August 2011: Julie Koidin performed in “Maria de Buenos Aires,” Piazzolla’s only opera – at the Chicago Cultural Center – Preston Bradley Hall.
July & August 2011: Julie Koidin received her 5th Fulbright Award – to teach and perform at the Flöjtmani Summer Course at the Musikhögskolan Ingesund in Arvika, Sweden.
June & July 2011: Julie Koidin released her first book, Os Sorrisos do Choro (São Paulo: Choro Music, 2011). Tour included masterclasses at FAMES, Vitoria, Espirito Santos, performances in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and masterclasses and performances in Brasília, Campos dos Goytacazes and Paraty. September -October 2009: Ondas performs as part of the Chicago Latino Music Festival. Program – Tribute to Heitor Villa-Lobos. Performances include WFMT radio, SPACE, and University of Illinois – Chicago.
February 2009: “Tango Residency” with Daniel Binelli, bandoneon, Polly Ferman, piano, and Tiempo Tango Chicago dancers Ramona Nita and Daniel Noce at Millikin University, Decatur, IL.
December 2008: Julie Koidin receives fourth Fulbright Grant – teaches and performs in Belgrade and Novi Sad, Serbia
October 2008: Julie Koidin performed as part of the Chicago Latino Music Festival – various performances including as soloist (performing Paquito D’Rivera’s Danzon flute concerto) with the Millennium Chamber Orchestra, and at Lyon & Healy with harpist Maria Luisa Rayan. Other concerts included WFMT radio, and in a combined program of the Ondas and MAVerick ensembles.
September 2008: Julie Koidin performed with Ondas and guest Orbert Davis, trumpet – the premiere of Elbio Barialari’s “Lincolniana” at the Ravinia Festival, Highland Park, IL. Broadcast on WFMT.
July 2008: Julie Koidin performed and taught in Domingos Martins, Espirito Santos Brazil for the 15th Annual Winter Music Festival. Performances included those with Paulo Sergio Santos, clarinet.
May 2008: Julie Koidin performed with Ondas at the Ravinia Festival, Highland Park, IL.
July 2007: Julie Koidin performed and taught in Vitoria, Espirito Santos, Brazil. Performance at Carlos Gomez Theatre with Carne de Gato, Sergio Alvares and pianist, Fernanda Canaud.
July 2007: Julie Koidin performed and taught at the First Seminar of Choruses and Orchestras in Campos dos Goytacazes, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
March 2007: Both Dois no Choro and Tiempo Tango accepted to the Illinois Arts Council’s Artstour Roster.
October 2006: Julie Koidin recieved her third Fulbright Grant (Senior Specialist) to teach and perform in New Zealand at the University of Auckland and the University of Waikato.

June 2006: Julie Koidin received her doctorate in flute performance from Northwestern. Dissertation: “Benedicto Lacerda and the ‘Golden Age’ of Choro Flute Playing.”

She performed Vivaldi’s Concerto in D Major RV 783 with the Volta Redondo String Orchestra in the famous Sala Cecilia Meireles Concert Hall.
