Since 1995, Julie Koidin has been researching Brazilian choro music. Having received a prestigious Fulbright Lecture/Research Grant to Brazil in 2002, Dr. Koidin has written several articles, and her doctoral dissertation* ("Benedicto Lacerda and the 'Golden Age' of Choro Flute Playing") on this fascinating genre.
