Julie Koidin has degrees in flute performance from Northwestern University (DM and MM) and the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana (BM).

Dr. Koidin is also the founder and director of the Chicago Choro Club, and teaches lessons and group classes in Brazilian choro music.
